General Questions

AuctionsWave is a Shopify App that allows store owners to run auctions on their website. An auction is a method of purchasing and selling products by offering them up for bids, accepting bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder.
Yes, you can run auctions on specific products or variants while keeping other products on your store available for standard fixed-price purchases.
When an auction is won, the app creates a secure checkout order with the winning bid price. This process does not lock or change your standard Shopify inventory levels, allowing you to manage and fulfill your items using your normal store settings without any disruption.
Yes! AuctionsWave supports 35 languages. You can customize your storefront bidding widget and email notifications in: English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, Spanish, Finnish, French, Irish, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Māori, Malay, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Slovenian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Chinese (Simplified & Traditional). If you need an additional language, reach out to our support team and we will gladly add it for you.
All subscription charges are handled securely through Shopify's official billing system. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time directly from the 'Plan' menu inside the AuctionsWave app dashboard.

Setup & Display

You can set up and launch your first auction in under 2 minutes. Simply install the app, toggle the Theme Embed on, select your product in our app manager, define your bid options, and click create.
No coding skills are required! Simply installing the app automatically displays the auction block widget on your product pages. If the widget does not appear automatically on custom theme layouts, simply go to Settings in your AuctionsWave dashboard, find the Widget Selector option, and replace or add your custom CSS class selector.
Yes! By default, the widget automatically renders near your buy buttons. If you want to position it elsewhere, go to Settings in your AuctionsWave dashboard, locate the Widget Selector setting, and input the custom CSS class or ID selector where the widget should be mounted.
Ensure the product status is active in your Shopify admin panel and is published to the online storefront channel. If it is active but still missing, refresh the product sync in the app.
If the bidding block does not appear on your custom product page, you can target it using CSS selectors. Go to the Settings page in the AuctionsWave dashboard, locate the Widget Selector field, and enter the CSS class or HTML tag selector of the container where you want the auction widget to be injected.

Bidding Rules

Yes! You can set a reserve price. If the final bid does not meet or exceed this amount, you are not obligated to complete the order.
The Buyout Price (also known as 'Buy It Now') allows customers to purchase the auction item instantly at a fixed price. This immediately concludes the active bidding early and awards the product to the buyer.
Bid increment rules define the minimum amount that a customer's bid must increase by. You can configure a static increment value (for example, specifying that every new bid must increase by at least $5) during the auction creation process.

Winner Checkout

The app automatically halts new bids, identifies the highest bidder, creates a draft checkout order in your Shopify admin, and emails the winner a secure link to complete their purchase.
Yes! With our PRO+ plan, you can manually select a winner. First, go to Settings and toggle the 'Manual Winner Selection' option to active. Once active, navigate to your completed auctions list and click the 'Bid History' button. From the bidder list, simply click the 'Select Winner' button next to the customer you want to award the auction to.
Yes, bidders can select their preferred size, color, or model directly from your active variants prior to checkout, ensuring they receive the exact option they want.
When creating a product auction, if you enable the 'Variant Selection' option, the winning customer can select their preferred product variant (such as size, color, or model) directly from the available options once the auction is completed before checking out.
